Coordinator III – Vegas PBS Planned Giving Officer

The Planned Giving Officer serves as Vegas PBS’ in-house gift planning resource managing a portfolio of planned giving donors/prospects, partnering with professional advisors, and advancing strategies that strengthen long-term sustainability for the mission we serve.
What you’ll do:
- Build and manage a planned giving portfolio: qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects.
- Meet with donors and advisors to clarify philanthropic goals, capacity, and appropriate gift structures.
- Develop and present gift proposals for outright and deferred gifts (including bequests, trusts, and gift annuities).
- Draft/review/execute gift arrangements with strong documentation, compliance, and internal approvals.
- Maintain clean, current donor records (files, contact logs, trackers, and reporting).
- Design donor cultivation and recognition experiences events, briefings, and ongoing stewardship touchpoints.
- Collaborate with Membership to integrate planned giving into broader donor pipelines and strategy.
- Support outreach and marketing for gift planning (print, digital, web).
- Train and support internal partners (staff/board/volunteers) on planned giving concepts and best practices.
- Stay current on legal/tax/regulatory trends affecting charitable giving and estate planning.
- Track commitments and forecasts for planned gift expectancies and long-range revenue projections.
- Coordinate with finance/legal/fundraising partners on administration, estate matters, and complex gifts.
What we’re looking for:
- Working knowledge of charitable giving, estate planning, and related tax/regulatory considerations
- Strong fundraising fundamentals: donor cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management
- Confidence in writing and presenting persuasive proposals and donor-facing communications
- Comfort with CRM/data tracking, reporting, and organized pipeline management (Microsoft Office required)
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism. This role handles confidential and sensitive information
- The ability to manage multiple priorities independently, hit deadlines, and represent the organization with diplomacy
- Flexibility to support occasional evenings/weekends/travel for donor meetings and events
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (nonprofit management, business, finance, public administration, communications, marketing, economics, philanthropy, estate planning, etc.) OR currently serving as a professional-technical employee with Clark County School District
- Experience: satisfactory service in related roles or five (5) years of successful supervisory experience related to an administrative position
- Experience should include planned giving/estate planning, major gifts, financial planning/wealth management, trust/probate administration, or related nonprofit development work
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD)
- 3+ years in planned giving, major gifts, or estate planning
- Engagement with professional associations related to planned giving (e.g., advisor/philanthropy or fundraising associations)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
- Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning (FCEP)
- Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP)
