Vegas PBS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Master Control Specialist to support our broadcast operations and ensure the seamless delivery of television, digital, and streaming content to our audiences. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys technology, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced media environment where accuracy and reliability are essential.

What You'll Do

As a Master Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting the systems that keep Vegas PBS on the air.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operate master control broadcast systems, video servers, automated playback systems, and digital transmission equipment

  • Monitor and manage television broadcasts, web streams, and communications systems

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and respond to technical issues affecting broadcast operations

  • Configure and maintain broadcast hardware and software systems

  • Record, archive, and manage incoming media from satellite, fiber, web-based, and other transmission sources

  • Support studio productions, remote productions, and live broadcasts

  • Maintain FCC-required program logs and operational records

  • Operate and test transmission and monitoring equipment

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and content teams to ensure high-quality broadcasts

What We're Looking For

  • Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  • Knowledge of computer systems, networking, and digital communications

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • One (1) year of computing or technology coursework and one (1) year of experience operating electronic broadcast or computer equipment; OR

  • Two (2) years of experience operating electronic broadcast or computer equipment

Preferred Qualifications

The following certifications are preferred but not required at the time of hire:

  • Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) Operator Certification

  • CompTIA A+ Certification

  • Cisco CCNA Certification
