South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences and strengthens communities, while working to create a stronger, more connected and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.
Job Purpose: Assists with curriculum development efforts for the Education Division, to include development of lesson plans, teacher recertification courses, and technology-based learning support that align with state, teacher, and student needs.
Job Duties: Under the guidance of the curriculum manager, develops instructional materials and assessments for KnowItAll.org (KIA) and PBS Learning Media. Works closely with subject matter experts to guarantee that all
KnowItAll.org (KIA) assets are aligned with current South Carolina College & Career Ready Standards. Conducts feedback sessions to measure the effectiveness of curriculum resources and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
Supports the creation and modification of teacher certification renewal curriculum development. Facilitates curriculum – focused teacher certification renewal courses. Supports certification renewal developments that align with South Carolina instructional and recertification policy updates.
In collaboration with the curriculum manager and subject matter experts, provides curriculum consultation services during all phases of production projects expected to be ingested on KIA, PBS Learning Media, or implemented in classrooms. Ensures that content-based curriculum supports align with current South Carolina College & Career Ready Standards. Collaborates with content producer(s) to develop learning assessments that align with accountability and reporting needs. Assists curriculum manager with reporting learning outcomes.
Assures applicable subject lessons from partnering institutions are properly vetted, updated, and posted. Uses KIA data analytics to determine critical content needs and recommend production priorities. Creates curriculum blogs promoting new and high-impact curriculum assets. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
Master's degree in education or related field, experience in curriculum development.
Preferred Qualifications:
An active South Carolina teaching certificate or teaching certificate that expired within the last 3 years A master's degree in education or another directly related field and experience in curriculum development; three years of experience in curriculum development, educational technologies, and/or adult learning pedagogy.
